ABOUT US<\/h2>\n

Welcome to the home page of the Herefordshire Health and Safety Group (HHSG). The Group was formed in 1968 with the purpose of providing free advice, information and support to companies and individuals who have an interest in health, safety and environmental issues, something which is still at the heart of everything we do today.<\/p>\n

Our seminars, which we organise for our members, cover a wide range of subjects reflecting current health, safety and environmental issues. As a Group we promote networking so that our members can share best practice for common problems.<\/p>\n

BLINDSIDED BY GRENFELL<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the November\/December 2024 issue of IOSH Magazine our President, Roger Bibbings MBE, CFIOSH (Retired) has written a very thought provoking article on the Grenfell Tower Inquiry\u2019s main findings.
\nHis article looks at the part that safety campaigners played and suggests that he and many others were blindsided by Grenfell and thinks there is a learning point that we all need to think clearly about how we maintain our awareness of potential safety problems and highlight them before they result in tragedy.

The judging has taken place in Safety Groups UK Health and Safety Awards 2024 and Herefordshire Health & Safety Group has won a SILVER award. The judges were very impressed with the calibre of entries and, in particular, the work of our Group in promoting Health and Safety.<\/p>\n

A quote from the letter advising us of our win:-<\/p>\n

\u2018The judges asked that you be informed that your entry showed work of a high quality and that your entry was judged to be very close to that of a gold standard\u2019.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In recent years we have won either silver or a gold award every time we\u2019ve entered which is a great achievement for a group of our size.<\/p>\n
